Vintage 1963 Fender Champ 5F1 Tweed Guitar Amp
Description
Vintage 1963 Fender Champ 5F1 Tweed Guitar Amp
Up for sale, here’s an original 1963 (not a reissue) 1×8″ – 5 Watts Fender Champ Tweed in great condition.
Recently serviced, some capacitors were replaced along the way (as it should) and the original speaker has been re-done by Speaker City. Just re-tubed with a NOS set consisting of one 5Y3GT (RCA) rectifier tube, one 6V6GTA (Sylvania) power tube and a 12AX7 / ECC83 (Sylvania) preamp tube.
It’s the ultimate holy grail of the low wattage Fender Amps. It sounds incredible and it’s in great shape over all.
You can check all the photos (I can send more upon request). You can clearly see serial number C20XXX. Prefix MA (Jan 1963) on the paper sheet inside the cabinet, chasis and speakers shows 05th week of ’63, Transformer code shows 28th week of ’62. Everything is pretty much original and serviced through the years as is meant to be. The AC plug has been replaced for a new vintage retrofit, however the power cable is the original. The fuse cup holder has been replaced for a NOS period correct one (and of course fuse is brand new).
Cosmetically, the amp shows normal wear and patina from almost sixty years, however the tweed tolex is in great shape without any rips. The leather handle is original and even though has some visible wear it’s still fully functional. The grill cloth is in great shape too.
It’ll be professional packed and insured to Continental US only. Local pickup in LA is also available at no cost.
